Sleep is a fundamental and evolutionarily conserved behaviour, and the only major behaviour for which the function remains unknown. The goal of our lab is to understand the synaptic and circuit mechanisms underlying sleep and its function in the brain.
Sleep is a fundamental and evolutionarily conserved behavior, and the only major behavior for which the function remains unknown. The goal of our lab is to understand the synaptic and circuit mechanisms underlying sleep and its function in the brain. To address these questions, we employ multi-disciplinary approaches, including Drosophila genetics, quantitative behavior analysis, electrophysiology, functional imaging, as well as neural circuit mapping and manipulation.
To showcase the world-class scientific research of the Sha Liu Lab, you can discover their scientific papers in more detail.
We are always on the lookout for highly motivated colleagues to join our team. If you are interested, please contact us.
The Sha Liu Lab can only thrive thanks to the dedication and commitment of its people, no matter what their function or seniority.
To stay up to date in rapidly developing fields, scientists regularly interact with (international) colleagues. Conferences and other (scientific) events are an excellent way to facilitate such a continent-spanning knowledge exchange.
